Dear Family & Friends,

The year of 2001 has left us with both a feeling of gratitude and a need to pass along our good fortune. We've created this web site instead of our usual Christmas letter for our family and friends with Internet access. The money that we would have spent on cards, paper, photos, and postage will be donated to charity to feed the hungry. The events of this year have left many in need, even as far away from world events as Eugene, Oregon. We hope you understand and agree.

2001 started out with Michelle rejoining Advanstar Communications as the senior editor for Spectroscopy magazine. She was promoted to editor in chief of that magazine in September. Her position at Advanstar gave her the opportunity to travel, and she was able to visit several old friends and relatives in various places, including California, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Although the travel is interesting, she has a new appreciation for the comfort of home.

In the meantime, Keith pursued an opportunity to join the city of Eugene as fleet shop supervisor. He started in November and is adjusting to life as a government employee. Keith also went to the United Kingdom with his mum in October to visit relatives. Unbelievably, eight years had passed since he visited his native country. It was quite an eye-opening trip for him.

Our dog Bonny is still with us, and we are grateful for another year with her. Tabba the Wonder Cat is as rambunctious as ever -- her current amusements are chasing the leaves blowing around our backyard and guarding our house from spiders.

In this season of joy, we are very aware of the difficulties so many have faced this year. We've watched friends get laid off, airplanes fly into buildings, and lives destroyed around the world. So our goal for this holiday season is to share our blessings. One of our greatest blessings is our family and friends around the world. We wish everyone peace and joy in 2002.

Love,
Michelle and Keith
